The Bermuda Arts Centre invites you to their Open House this Sunday (September 29) from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, coinciding with the launch of their “Fall Open” Members’ Juried Show. This exhibition showcases a stunning variety of works from 20 different artists, featuring everything from classic historical oils to playful, functional mixed media pieces. The collection spans a range of themes, guiding viewers through industrial landscapes to vibrant bursts of florals, making it difficult to choose where to linger.
Adding to the day’s festivities, the Bermuda Plein Air Group will be painting around Dockyard from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon, capturing the area’s scenic and historic charm. Visitors to the Gallery will have the chance to meet the artists, engage in conversation, and even purchase artwork directly from the easel. Their interpretations of the surroundings always reveal the beauty of the location through fresh eyes.
Author Peter Barrett will also be in attendance, signing copies of his new book Virginia and Bermuda, Colonial Siblings from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. He looks forward to sharing his extensive knowledge of the Sea Venture, its passengers, and their continued journey to Virginia. The book offers a fascinating exploration of Bermuda’s history, making it a must-have for local history buffs. During the signing, the book will be available at a special price of $35.
While you’re in Dockyard, make sure to explore the Bermuda Arts Centre’s new show, browse through their extensive selection of locally crafted gifts, and visit the Bermuda Book Store, which is a favorite among children and adults alike.
This is a fun-filled event for art lovers and families, and the Bermuda Arts Centre is excited to welcome you to the West End!
