In the wake of a slow moving cold front, strong winds, rough seas, isolated to scattered showers persist through the day. Tonight into Friday morning a new cold front brings more rain, showers, strong to gale force winds and very rough seas. Winds and seas gradually decrease Saturday into Sunday as high pressure moves in for the weekend.

Scattered showers developing today in advance of a cold front bringing periods of rain overnight. Fair weather returns briefly Thursday afternoon before another, more vigorous cold front passes Thursday night. Winds become moderate to strong by midday, reaching gale force Thursday night into Friday morning. Moderate seas build to rough by Thursday, then very rough on Friday, and slowly abating Saturday.

You may remember or even have read the book “Dockyard Cats”.

It was written by Don Trousdell, who sadly passed away this past Thursday.  The world has indeed lost a lot of its colour.

Don Trousdell was a graphic designer and artist, who entered the profession during the “Golden Age” of advertising. During his 45-year career, Trousdell won more than 500 national and international awards for his work.[citation needed] In the 1960s, his art studio Mabey Trousdell worked with clients like U.S. Army to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM). Trousdell taught at both Syracuse and Kansas Universities.

Known for his themed exhibits, Trousdell viewed himself as a “storyteller.” He spent hours extensively researching for each series and each piece he worked on. He had over 38 one-man shows—36 of which were themed shows. One of his last exhibits, “Ordinary People,” immediately followed the Picasso exhibit in St. Augustine, Florida. That series, “Ordinary People,” tells the stories of the early settlers of America’s oldest city, St. Augustine.

Trousdell is the author and illustrator of two books Dockyard Cats and The Cheating Game. The former takes an illustrated trip to the Bermuda Dockyard to discover its history and search for cats.

High pressure moving by to our north today will provide fair weather and light to moderate winds today. A cold front approaching from the northwest will bring showers and moderate to strong winds tonight. Showers linger behind the front through Monday afternoon. Mainly moderate winds Tuesday and Wednesday increase moderate to strong again Thursday.
